Palm Beach, FL — Student First, a modern cloud-native Student Information System (SIS) provider, today announced that William Penn University has selected Student First as its next-generation SIS, replacing its legacy system to modernize student records, reporting, and integration capabilities across its Oskaloosa, Iowa campus.
William Penn selected Student First following a competitive evaluation process, citing the platform's open API architecture, built-in data analytics, and modern cloud-native design. The university's previous system had grown difficult to maintain, with lengthy upgrade cycles, limited integration options, and reporting tools that could not keep pace with William Penn's data-driven approach to student success.
“William Penn has built its campus culture around knowing every student, and that kind of personal attention deserves a modern system that can keep up,” said Joe Fisher, Chief of Staff & Senior Vice President, Student First. “We're proud to support that mission with technology built for exactly this kind of institution.”
The implementation will connect Student First to William Penn's financial aid servicer, payment processor, and learning management system, along with Blackbaud's Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge platforms for finance and alumni operations through the Connected Campus integration model. The goal is to reduce William Penn's reliance on internal IT staff to manage ongoing integration updates as the university's technology ecosystem evolves.
“This is a great example of a data-driven leadership team that knew exactly what they needed,” said Bryan Carmichael, Western Regional Vice President of Sales, Student First. “William Penn saw immediately how our API structure and reporting tools would remove the manual work that was slowing their teams down.”
The transition to Student First is underway, with both organizations continuing to define implementation milestones together.
